Sierra Ward was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 6 Women's Volleyball Team Thursday morning.
The right-side hitter from Fruitdale, S.D. has accumulated a 4.00 GPA while majoring in Chemistry throughout her time at BHSU.
Ward was second in kills for the Yellow Jackets with 214 kills this season. Ward competed in 26 matches while starting in 18. This season Ward recorded 34 digs, three solo blocks, and 48 block assists while being credited for 241 points for the Yellow Jackets.
Ward was named to the RMAC Honor Roll and earned All RMAC Honorable Mention during the 2021 season.
Ward will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-December.
Selections to the Academic All-District 6 Women's Volleyball Team were based upon a vote of sports information directors in both the Lone Star Conference, and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Candidates must be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic standing, a starter or key reserve on the team and carry at least a 3.3 GPA.
