Women's Golf Brings Signing Class to Nine with Two More Signees

Black Hills State women's golf and head coach Craig Marsh are pleased to announce the signing of two more student-athletes as members of the 2022-23 signing class.
 
Black Hills State women's golf has added standouts from North Dakota and Wyoming in their newest round of signings as they pick up Katie Jorgenson from Sheridan, Wyo. and Madisen Jarrett from South Heart, N.D.
 
Katie Jorgenson
Jorgenson joins the Yellow Jackets out of Sheridan, Wyo. where she competed at Sheridan High School as a member of the women's golf team. As a freshman Katie earned her spot on the varsity golf team for the spring season with scores of 115, 110, and 100.
 
In her sophomore year Jorgenson was named to the varsity team for the fall season and placed third overall after play offs in the fall. Jorgenson did not play in spring of 2020 due to COVID-19.
 
As a junior Katie was named to the varsity roster for both fall and spring seasons. Jorgenson earned a third-place finish in the fall and a second-place finish in the spring after play offs. At her conference meet Jorgenson earned a fifth place finish her junior year while also being named to the All-Conference team. Jorgenson also helped lead her team to the State Championship her junior year.
 
In her senior year Katie earned a season best score of 79 in the fall while earning a first-place finish as well. Jorgenson was named to the All-State team for the fall of her senior year and has also earned a spot to compete at nationals in June of 2022.
 
Throughout her time in high school Jorgenson earned a 3.76 GPA and is ranked 45th in her class. As a freshman Katie earned Academic Honors. Jorgenson intends to major in Elementary Education with hopes of becoming and elementary teacher.
 
Madisen Jarrett
Madison Jarrett joins the Yellow Jackets from South Heart, N.D. where she played with the South Heart School women's golf team. As a freshman Jarrett placed sixth through fourth at her conference meets. At regionals Madisen earned a fourth-place individual finish and individually qualified for the state meet. Jarrett helped lead her team to the State Tournament where they placed fourth as a team her freshman year.
 
Jarrett did not compete her sophomore year due to COVID-19.
 
Jarrett picked back up where she had left off her junior year placing second or third at her conference meets and placing second overall individually at regionals. Jarrett again qualified as an individual for the State Meet and was a member of the second-place overall team.
 
As a senior Jarrett was named team captain and placed first through fourth at conference meets. Madisen was first overall individually at regionals her senior year and an individual state qualifier. Jarrett helped lead her team to a first-place finish at the State Championships her senior year and was named All-State after a sixth-place individual finish. Madisen was also named Athlete of the Year her senior year. Jarrett has earned her spot to compete in the 2022 National High School Golf Invitational this coming summer.
 
Throughout her time in high school Jarrett has earned a 4.00 GPA and is currently ranked sixth in her class. Madisen is a member of the National Honor Society and has earned High Honor Roll. Jarrett intends to major in Elementary Education with hopes of finding a teaching position after graduating from BHSU.
 
Jorgenson and Jarrett are the eighth and ninth members of the Yellow Jacket women's golf 2022-23 signing class.
