ALTA, Iowa – Black Hills State rodeo wrapped up their fall portion of the schedule this weekend at the Buena Vista Rodeo.
The women's team won the event, placing first, while the men came in third.
Riley Donnelly won the Women's All-Around and
Karli Verhulst was named Reserve All-Around.
Luke Mavity won All-Around on the men's side.
Women
Cashae McGee won Goat Tying with a 14.4 on two, while
Haven Jones came in second with a 14.5 on two. Donnely placed fourth with a 15.5 on two and Verhulst was sixth in the long-go with a 7.8
A Yellow Jacket also won Breakaway Roping with
Tayla Thorstenson finishing first with a 5.9 on two. Donnelly placed second with a 6.8 on two.
Verhulst also finished fourth in Barrel Racing with a 32.5 on two.
Men
In Steer Wrestling,
Austin Madison placed fourth with a 26.2 on two.
Mavity came in second place in Tie Down Roping with a 28.9 on two. In the long-go, Madison placed fourth and
Nick Bjork placed sixth.
Clayton Backhaus came in at third in Team Roping with a 26.4 on two, while Mavity placed second in the long-go with a 9.3.
