BILLINGS, Mont. – Black Hills State women's golf carded the first round of the Yellowjacket Fall Invite in Billings on Monday, checking out of the Lake Hills Golf Course in a tie for sixth with South Dakota Mines' "Team B" upon the finish of round one.
The Yellow Jackets (345, +57) were led by
Katie Jorgenson, who tapped out of the first day with an 83-stroke total (+11) to lock up with two other golfers for 23
rd. Her scorecard through the first round tied the sophomore's collegiate best round of 83 that she recorded in the 2022-23 season.
Ava Kalanek and
Anna Talarico (87, +15) both completed the first round in a three-way tie for 33
rd while
Lola Homiston (88, +16) finished the day in a four-player lock for 36
th.
Cami Langley (94, +22) rounded out the Yellow Jacket team in a tie for 45
th.
Playing in Billings as an individual,
Jessica Folchert (99, +27) is tied for 49
th after the day's conclusion.
South Dakota Mines' "A" team and Chadron State (304, +16) left the course on day one in a tie for first place while the Rocky Mountain College "A" team (308, +20) stands alone in third.
