SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University golf team opens up their four-meet spring slate on Monday, March 11 with the 36-hole, one day, SMSU Classic down in Arizona, hosted by Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU). The first tee time for the Yellow Jackets is slated for 12:04 p.m. (MT).
 
Freshman Ava Kalanek (Bismarck, N.D.) looks to keep up the momentum into the spring season after setting the Black Hills State single-round record in the first fall meet of the season at the Swan Memorial with a first round score of 73 (+1) back on September 8 at Broadlands Golf Course (Broomfield, Colo.).

THE COURSE
The Yellow Jackets will take to the course at the Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park, Arizona. Competing on the blue course, it's a par-72 course.
 
THE TEAMS
The SMSU Classic will feature 12 teams on the course with 11 NCAA Division II teams and one Division I team (Bucknell University, Pa.). A pair of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) squads will be in the field in MSU Denver and Westminster. The tournament will feature a total of 71 golfers, including the 12 'A' teams and 11 individuals.
