RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Black Hills State women's golf team closed out their second tournament of the fall with a tie for fifth place at the Hardrocker Fall Invite at The Golf Club at Red Rock on Tuesday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets were led by Katie Jorgenson for the second consecutive tournament as she finished in a tie for 11^th, while Ava Kalanek and Leyni Stavola also added top-30 finishes for BHSU. Through two tournaments this fall Black Hills State as a team is averaging a 333.5 stroke average, which is an 18.1 stoke improvement from a year ago when they were averaging 351.6 at this point in time.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Leading all Black Hills State golfers once again was Katie Jorgenson, who ended the tournament just outside of the top-10 in a tie for 11^th place on the players leaderboard. With a second round score of 82 (+10) she scored par on eight holes, including a birdie on the ninth hole, en route to a 36-hole score of 163 (+19).
• Finishing in a tie for 27^th on the players leaderboard with a 2-day total of 174 (+30) was Ava Kalanek. She closed out the tournament with a second round score of 89 (+17) as she recorded six scores of par and added a birdie on the 16^th hole.
• Leyni Stavola saw a three stroke improvement from round one to round two as she finished the Hardrocker Fall Invite in a tie for 29^th and 36-hole score of 175 (+31). She posted a second round score of 86 (+14) as she carded scores of par on seven holes throughout the day.
• Makaela Swanson closed out the 2-day tournament at The Golf Club at Red Rock with a overall score of 179 (+35) for a tie for 36^th. During the final round of action she carded a score of 95 (+23) as she notched scores of par on four holes.
• Lola Homiston was the top finishing Yellow Jacket individual as a ten stroke improvement from round one to round two closed the tournament with an overall score of 182 (+38). Her second round score of 86 (+14) featured six scores of par and a birdie on the 15^th hole.
• Making the largest jump on the player leaderboard for BHSU was Olivia McCandless who saw a 16 stroke improvement from round one to round two, ending the Hardrocker Fall Invite with a total of 186 (+42). Her second round score of 85 (+13) saw scores of par on seven holes.
• Second among Black Hills State individuals and tied for 47^th overall was Cami Langley, who posted a 36-hole score of 191 (+47) as she saw a seven stroke improvement from round one to round two. She posted scores of par on five holes during her final round total of 92 (+20).
• Rounding out the Yellow Jacket golfers was Jessica Folchert, who totaled a score of 203 (+59) for 55^th place on the player leaderboard.  Her second round score of 101 (+29) saw her score par on one hole, and added a birdie on the fourth hole.
