SPEARFISH, S.D. – As the Black Hills State University women's golf team turns the page from the month of September to October during this week's Marauder Golf Invite, hosted by UMary, the Yellow Jackets hope to carry over the success from the first three tournaments of the year. BHSU will tee off at 9 a.m. during both rounds one and two at the Hawktree Golf Club in Bismarck, North Dakota.

BLACK HILLS STATE STORYLINES
- Black Hills State continued their strong start to the fall season last week as they posted a fourth-place finish at the inaugural Black Hills State Classic, posting a score of 681 (+105).
- The Yellow Jackets have totaled three of the best single round scores in the program's DII history this fall, recording the second-best score in round one of Swan Memorial with a 326 (+38), the third-best score in round two of the Swan Memorial with a 327 (+39), and tying for the tenth-best score in round one of the Black Hills State Classic with a 337 (+49). Additionally, BHSU has notched the program's best DII mark for a 36-hole tournament with a score of 653 (+77) at the Swan Memorial.
- Following a career-best finish of third place at the Black Hills State Classic with a score of 161 (+17), Katie Jorgenson became the first Yellow Jacket to ever be named the RMAC Women's Golfer of the Week last week Thursday. She has posted a stroke average of 80.67 through six rounds this year and has notched a career-low round score in the first round of the Black Hills State Classic with an 89 (+7). Her career-best 36-hole score of 160 (+16) at this year's Swan Memorial continues to be tied for the seven-best in the school's DII record book.
- Leyni Stavola is coming off a season-best finish in a tie for 11th place at the Black Hills State Classic where she recorded a score of 170 (+26). Through six rounds this fall season she has posted a stroke average of 85.17, to go along with a career-best round score of 81 (+9) and a 36-hole score of 166 (+22) that occurred in the Swan Memorial to begin the year.
- Makaela Swanson is coming off a season-best finish in a tie for 11th place at the Black Hills State Classic where she carded a score of 170 (+26). In the first six tournaments of the 2024 fall season, she has notched a stroke average of 86.33, as well as a career-best round of 78 (+6) and a 36-hole score of 169 (+25) which both occurred at the Swan Memorial. Her career-best round score which came in round two of the Swan Memorial remains tied for tenth in the BHSU DII record book.
- Ava Kalanek is coming off a season-best finish of a tie for 23rd place at the Black Hills State Classic, where she posted a score of 180 (+36). This season she has notched a stroke average of 87.00 through six rounds of golf, in which she has recorded a season-low round of 84 (+12) on two occasions and a season-low 36-hole score of 168 (+24) that all took place at the Swan Memorial.
- Cami Langley enters the tournament as an individual after turning in a season-best finish of a tie for 29th place at the Black Hills State Classic, where she recorded a score of 185 (+41). Through six rounds of golf this fall, she has notched a stroke average of 91.50, to go along with a season-best round score of 83 (+11) and a season-best 36-hole score of 173 (+29) that both occurred at the Swan Memorial.
- Randy Doran is in his first year officially as the head coach for Black Hills State, after serving as interim head coach a year ago.Â
