Yellow Jacket Soccer Signs Eight on National Signing Day

SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University women's soccer program and head coach John Hutchison signed a 2026 class of eight on National Signing Day on Wednesday. The class boasts talent with numerous state champions, all-state honorees, and several NPL National Champions with four signees from South Dakota and four from Wyoming, including players such as Ivy Agee (Powell, Wyo.), Holly Benson (Rapid City, S.D.), Jazlyn Olson (Belle Fourche, S.D.), Lauren Peotter (Spearfish, S.D.), Daniela Rodriguez (Spearfish, S.D.), Sydney Stephan (Casper, Wyo.), Ellie Talich (Cody, Wyo.), and Parker Treide (Sheridan, Wyo.).

Agee, one of the most prolific goal scorers in the state of Wyoming, enters her senior season for head coach Daniel Agee and the Panthers with 260 career points by way of 118 goals and 24 assists. A 3-year letterwinner, starter, and captain, she has earned First Team All-WHSAA Class 3A and First Team All-WHSAA Class 3A Western Conference in 2023, 2024, and 2025. The PHS star found the back of the net more than 35 times in each of her first three seasons, scoring 39 times as a freshman in 2023 to first break the school record, then added 36 as a sophomore in 2024, and then re-broke the school record again in 2025 as a junior with 43 goals. She was named the Wyoming Underclassman of the Year in both 2024 and 2025. On the club circuit she has played for the Wyoming 307 Select and the Black Hills Rapids, winning the NPL National Championship with the BHR in 2025. Ivy is the daughter of Daniel and Julie Agee and has four siblings, Jesi Mady, Izabella, and Conrad.

Benson was a 3-year letterwinner and starter for the Raiders and head coach Luis Usera as she started 41 of the 45 matches she played in. She helped lead the team to three SDHSAA Class AA State Tournaments, including back-to-back 15-win seasons with a combined 12 shutout victories as they finished as runners-up in 2024 and a semifinal appearance in 2025. In her career she totaled 27 points with six goals and 15 assists. Of the six goals, five of them came during her senior campaign. On the club circuit she has been a member of the Black Hills Rapids since 2013 and was a member of the 2024 NPL National Runner-Up team and was the team captain of the 2025 NPL National Champion team. Holly is the daughter of Jennifer and Jake Benson and has three siblings, Jessica Roesch and Riley and Tucker Benson. Her brother Riley was a former collegiate athlete as a wrestler at Dickinson State in 2022-23.
 
Coach Hutchison's Thoughts: "Holly can be both dangerous in the attack and lock down opponents on defense. Her aggressive and fearless mentality will bring a spark to the team."

A 6-year letterwinner and starter at nearby Belle Fourche High School for head coach Rebekah Trimble, Olson was a 2025 Honorable Mention All-SDHSAA Class A selection and was a 2-time All-Black Hills Conference pick. She helped lead the Broncs to the SDHSAA Class A State Tournament Quarterfinals in back-to-back seasons in 2024 and 2025, finding the back of the net seven times as a junior and four times as a senior. Over the course of her prep career, she tallied a total of 30 points by way of 13 goals and four assists. On the club circuit she played for South Dakota United in 2021-22. Jazlyn is the daughter of Kim Terrill and Justin Olson, and she has one sibling, Ember Olson.
 
Coach Hutchison's Thoughts: "Jazlyn is an incredibly calm and composed person and player. She has a fantastic first touch and will be a very strong competitor for anyone playing against her."

One of two hometown kids staying home, Peotter will arrive at Black Hills State as a 5-year letterwinner, 4-year starter, and 2-year captain for the Spartans and head coach Anthony Bradley. The Spearfish High School record holder for most saves and least goals conceded led SHS to four SDHSAA Class AA State Tournament appearances, including a trip to the quarterfinals in 2023. Also in the 2023 quarterfinal season, the Spartans tallied ten wins as she conceded just nine goals all year, the fewest in a single season in program history. She was a 3-time All-Black Hills Conference selection and is a 2-time Best of the Rest selection by the Rapid City Journal. On the club circuit she spent seven seasons with the Black Hills Rapids, including being a part of the 2024 NPL National Runner-Up team and the 2025 NPL National Champion team. She previously spent two years with South Dakota United. Lauren is the daughter of Kellie and Brian Peotter, and she has one sibling, Brooke, who is a current women's soccer athlete at the University of South Dakota.
 
Coach Hutchison's Thoughts: "Lauren is a very composed goalkeeper, who is also dangerous with her distribution. She has a very calming influence on the game and her teammates. We look forward to having her with us this Fall."

Another Spearfish native is staying home. Rodriguez was a 5-year letterwinner and starter and was a captain her senior season for head coach Anthony Bradley and the Spartans. Among the top defenders in Western South Dakota, she was a 4-time All-Black Hills Conference selection and was among the Rapid City Journal's Best of the West in 2024. She tallied three assists in her career, which included helping lead SHS to the SDHSAA Class AA State Tournament five consecutive seasons. Among the state tournament appearances, the Spartans reached the quarterfinals twice in 2021 and 2023, recording win totals of 11 and ten respectively in the two seasons. She was also a part of the Black Hills Rapids squad that was the NPL National Runner-Up in 2024 and the NPL National Champions in 2025. Daniela is the daughter of Dagoberto Rodriguez and Claudia Garcia, and she has three siblings, Leo, Isai, and Dago Rodriguez. Her father Dagoberto had a 13-year professional soccer career in Mexico and her brother, Leo, played professionally for three seasons.
 
Coach Hutchison's Thoughts: "Dani is an incredibly tenacious competitor who brings a fight to the field. A leader on and off the field both by example and how she sets the tone for her teammates."

Stephan enters her senior season as a 3-year letterwinner and starter for head coach Jerry Realing and the Trojans. She led KWHS to three consecutive WHSAA Class 4A State Tournament Championship game appearances, winning titles in 2023 and 2024. In her three year prep career, she has tallied 133 career points with 57 goals and 19 assists. She found the back of the net 17 times in both her freshman and sophomore state title campaigns and made the jump to 23 goals and ten assists as a junior. She is a 3-time First Team All-Class 4A West, and was an all-state performer three times as well, earning Second Team All-WHSAA Class 4A in 2023 and First Team All-WHSAA Class 4A in 2024 and 2025. Among the top players in the state of Wyoming, she was selected to compete in the Olympic Development Program West Regional in 2022-25 and the Wyoming Olympic Development Program Far West Regionals Team in 2022-24. She has played on club teams such as The Lander Strikers, The Casper Blades, Wyoming 307, Wyoming ODP, Utah Avalanche ECNL, The LA Breakers ECNL, and The Eagles ECRL. Sydney is the daughter of Rachel and Jeffery Stephan and she has one sibling, June.
 
Coach Hutchison's Thoughts: "Sydney's hard working and tireless style of play will seamlessly transition into college soccer. Her creativity will be an asset to BH soccer and her new teammates."

Talich will enter her senior season and will be a 4-year letterwinner and starter, and a 3-year captain for head coach Marian Miears and the Broncs. Also, among the top players in the state of Wyoming, she is a 3-time All-WHSAA Class 3A selection, was named the Wyoming Underclassman of the Year as a freshman and was the Co-Rookie of the Year in Wyoming as a sophomore with fellow incoming Yellow Jacket Ivy Agee. Despite being on the back line of defense she has found the back of the net 19 times, including a career-best nine goals last season, and has assisted on ten goals. She has led CHS to three consecutive WHSAA Class 3A State Title games, winning the championship in 2023 and 2025. On the club circuit she is a part of the Wyoming 307 and the Wyoming Olympic Development Program. Ellie is the daughter of Jen and Jim Talich, and has four siblings, Nico, Luke, Jake, and Genna. Her family is no stranger to collegiate athletics, as her father Jim, played linebacker at the University of Wyoming from 1993-97, and her mother, Jen, played volleyball at Montana State University from 1993-96. Additionally, her brother Nic followed in their dad's footsteps and played linebacker at UW from 2021-24, and her other brother, Luke, is currently a junior safety at the University of Notre Dame.
 
Coach Hutchison's Thoughts: "Ellie is an incredibly dominant player who imposes her defensive will on the game. A game changer with how relentlessly competitive she is, which we look forward to having on our team."

Treide will enter her final prep season being a 4-year letterwinner and starter and a captain this upcoming senior year for head coach Joshua Dube and the Broncs. She had a breakout junior season in 2025, earning an all-state nod for First Team All-WHSAA Class 4A, leading the Class 4A Eastern Conference with 13 assists while also scoring six goals, going 2-for-2 on penalty kicks. The year prior she was named Second Team All-WHSAA Class 4A East with three goals and a pair of assists. In her SHS career she has tallied nine goals and 17 assists. On the club circuit she has played for the Wyoming Olympic Development Program, Wyoming 307 Select, Sheridan Storm, and the Gillette Edge. Parker is the daughter of Ellen and PJ Treide and has two sisters Blakely and Jovie. Her mother, Ellen, played one season of soccer at the University of Wyoming in 1997, and her father, PJ, played one season of basketball at Sheridan College in 1998.
 
Coach Hutchison's Thoughts: "Parker is a difference maker due to her versatility. An incredibly smart player who solves problems on the field. Her clean style of play will translate well to Black Hills State Soccer."
