RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Black Hills State University women's golf team continued their spring season today with the first round of Hardrocker Spring Invite in Rapid City, S.D. The Yellow Jackets currently sit in fifth place with a 367 (+83). Olivia McCandless and Katie Jorgenson  led the Green and Gold, while the other Yellow Jackets each shot 95 or higher.

HOW IT HAPPENED
•    Olivia McCandless shot her third best round of the season with an 84 (+13). She currently sits in a tie for fourth place in the tournament and only four shots off the lead, which is by far the best position she has been in so far this season. McCandless only had one double bogey all day with six pars and 11 bogeys. It is her second straight team-leading round as she posted the top score on day two of the Southern Colorado Open.
•    Katie Jorgenson also had an incredible day, where she shot 87 (+16) and is currently sitting in ninth place in the tournament. She is one of two Yellow Jackets in the top 10 and she led the team with seven pars. She unfortunately had a pair of unfortunate triple bogeys with one coming early and another coming late.
•    Jessica Folchert was third on the Yellow Jacket roster and actually had a pretty good bounce back round. Folchert was coming off a performance at the SCO, where she put up back-to-back triple-digit scores, but today at the Hardrocker, she scored a 95 (+24). She currently sits in a three-way tie for 24th place and had three pars. Folchert had a solid back nine shooting a 46 (+11), before shooting a 49 (+13) on the front. 
•    Leyni Stavola carded a 101 (+30) in round one of the tournament. This put her in 30th place in the invite. It was the front nine, which hurt her as she had six holes with scores higher than a bogey on the front half of the course. She bounced back though with a solid performance on the back, which started with two pars on 10 and 11 and she was only +5 on the first six holes of the back nine. 
•    Anna Talarico finished with a 103 (+32), however, most of that over par came on two holes, where she had a nine on the par three third hole and an 11 on the par five 14th hole. Besides that Talarico would've only shot a 91 and would've shot a 43 (+8) on the back nine. So, Talarico finished fifth on the team with that 103 and currently sits in 31st place.
