CASPER, Wyo. – The Black Hills State University men's and women's rodeo team saw five athletes in action on Tuesday afternoon as the CNFR concluded slack at the Ford Wyoming Center. With the day starting with barrel racing, the Yellow Jacket's
Sierra Steele kept herself in the hunt to make a return appearance to the short go finals, while later on in the afternoon freshman
Raylee Fagerhaug made a sub-7 second run in the goat tying.
HOW IT HAPPENED - MEN'S RODEO
- The Great Plains Region due of Jess Harper and Colton Zubach rounded out the slack action for Black Hills State on Tuesday afternoon. The pair was unable to record a time during the second go as the steer avoided Harper's catch attempt.
HOW IT HAPPENED – WOMEN'S RODEO
- Cashae McGee was the first Yellow Jacket to compete at the CNFR on Tuesday morning in barrel racing, clocking a time of 14.98 seconds for 33rd place in the second go. She now holds a time of 29.90 after two go arounds, ranking 23rd with one run remaining before the short go.
- Making her second run of the CNFR, Sierra Steele closed out the barrel racing on day two with a time of 14.67 seconds. Her time tied for 23rd in the second go and brought her total time 29.24 seconds which is tied for 14th with one run remaining before the short go.
- McGee, the all-around cowgirl once again made her return to the arena and cut 2.3 seconds off her time from the first go of goat tying. She clocked a 7.9 second run, tying for 42nd during the second go as she brought her overall time to 18.1 seconds. She currently sits 41st in the standings with just one run remaining before the short-go.
- After not being able to record a time yesterday, Husted got on the board during the second go of goat tying as she notched a time of 8.1 seconds that tied for 44th in the round. Her two round time currently ranks 54th on the leaderboard.
- Fagerhaug shaved 2.5 seconds off her first run and was able to clock the fastest time by a Yellow Jacket thus far in goat tying at the CNFR, tallying a sub-7 second time of 6.9 seconds that tied for 22nd in the second go. Leading the BHSU trio, she holds a two round total of 16.3 seconds that ranks 35th.

Three Black Hills State athletes will compete in their third go around during Wednesday night's performance at 7 p.m. on ESPN3. In the rounds second section of goat tying will be
Cashae McGee and
Haley Husted, being the 20th and 27th athletes to compete in the event during the round. The night then comes to a close for the Yellow Jackets with the pair of
Sierra Steele and McGee both competing in section two of the barrel racing. Steele will be the 15th to compete in the round and McGee will be the 22nd to go.
