DICKINSON, N.D. – The Black Hills State University women's rodeo team notched a third place finish with 140 points this past weekend at the Blue Hawk Stampede at the Stark County Fairgrounds & Events Park. Leading the way for the Yellow Jackets was
Kiera Mavity who earned the women's all-around title and the goat tying title, while
Jayda Reinert secured her third barrel racing title of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED – WOMEN'S RODEO
- Kiera Mavity earned the event win in goat tying, starting the weekend off by winning the long go with a time of 6.4 seconds before clocking the second-fastest time of the short go at 6.5 seconds. Overall, she held a total time of 12.9 seconds to secure the title and 170 points.
- Also in goat tying, Raylee Fagerhaug was fourth place with a total time of 14.5 seconds as she secured 70 points towards her season total. In the long go she clocked a time of 7.4 seconds and then tallied a time of 7.1 seconds in the short go.
- Rounding out the trio in goat tying, Capri Cammack earned a tie for seventh place with a total time of 15.4 seconds. In the long go she notched a time of 7.4 seconds and then added a time of 8.0 seconds in the short go.
- Paige Delaney secured a fifth place finish in breakaway roping with a total time of 6.5 seconds, earning 45 points in the rodeo. In the long go she clocked a time of 3.0 seconds, and then she was only one of five to post a time in the short go with a 3.5 second run.
- The Pair of Jori Horsburgh and Kamry Davis tied for eighth place in the breakaway roping, clocking times of 3.2 seconds in the long go, but were unable to record a time in the short go.
- Jayda Reinert clinched her third title of the season in barrel racing in the Great Plains Region, posting a total time of 35.07 seconds, nearly four tenths of a second faster than second place. She won the long go with a time of 17.23 seconds and then added a time of 17.84 seconds in the short go. In total she received 140 points towards her season total in the event.
- Mavity added a tie for third place in barrel racing as she clocked a total time of 35.47 seconds for 90 points in the rodeo. In the long go she recorded a time of 17.82 seconds, and then she added a short go run of 17.65 seconds, the second-fastest of the round.
- Rounding out the trio of Yellow Jacket cowgirls in barrel racing was Adeline Norstegaard, who notched a total time of 40.20 seconds for 50 points in the rodeo. In the long go she recorded the second-fastest time of the round at 17.50 seconds and then added a 22.70 second short go round after knocking over one barrel.
- Mavity secured the women's all-around title with 260 points on the weekend, earning 170 points in goat tying and 90 in barrel racing.
