COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced the week two women's soccer players of the week, which highlighted Black Hills State sophomore goalkeeper, Rian Barthel, as the RMAC Goalkeeper of the Week. The award comes as the Yellow Jackets are off to their best start in program history at 3-0-1, with Barthel capturing her second clean sheet of the season in a 2-0 visit to the Rimrock Classic in Billings. Barthel's recognition is just BHSU's third-ever RMAC Player of the Week recipient in the sport of women's soccer, and first since 2019. 

RMAC GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

• Led Black Hills State to a 2-0 weekend at the Rimrock Classic with wins over UMary (4-2) and MSU Moorhead (4-0). The pair of wins helped the Green & Gold continue their best start in program history with a 3-0-1 start to the year after two weeks of action. 
• Barthel started and played two complete matches against the Marauders and Dragons, making ten saves and allowing just two goals on 42 shots faced. She posted one shutout and recorded a 1.00 goals against average and a 0.833 save percentage in 180 minutes of action. 
• Against UMary on Thursday, the Marauders totaled 30 shot attempts with nine on target as Barthel made a season-high seven saves and allowed two goals in Black Hills State's first-ever win over UMary (BHSU was previously 0-7 all-time against the Marauders). 
• She recorded her second shutout of the year and tied the school's career complete game shutouts record (6), as she faced 12 shot attempts and three shots on frame against the Dragons on Saturday. Barthel tallied three saves in the match.
