Hastings, Neb. – The Black Hills State University
volleyball team split its matches on the first day of the Hastings
Tournament defeating Concordia 3-1 and falling to Northwestern
3-0.
Black Hills State won the first two sets 25-22 and 25-15 before
falling in the third 25-22. The Yellow Jackets came back to
win the fourth set 25-20 to clinch the match. The Yellow
Jackets had a very balanced attack against Concordia with three
players tallying double-digit kills. Maggie O'Neill had
12 kills while Amy O'Neill, her sister, had 10 kills.
Kylee Lamb chipped in with 11 kills. Maggie O'Neill
also had six service aces in the match.
The Yellow Jackets fell to Northwestern in the second match of
the day 3-0 by scores of 25-12, 25-18 and 25-19. Black Hills
State struggled offensively managing only 20 kills as a team in the
match.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action on Saturday when they
will square-off against Dordt and Morningside.
