Volleyball Drops Two At Hastings Tournament

Hastings, Neb. – The Black Hills State University volleyball team lost two matches on Saturday at a tournament in Hastings, Neb.  The Yellow Jackets were defeated by Dordt 3-0 and then by Morningside 3-1.

The Yellow Jackets fell to Dordt by scores of 25-19, 25-20 and 25-15.  Jessica Mills led Black Hills State in hitting with seven kills and no errors on 11 attempts in the match.

Black Hills State challenged Morningside in the second match of the day, however, the team could not overcome the Mustangs as the Yellow Jackets fell in four sets by scores of 25-22, 21-25, 26-24 and 25-17.  Once again, the O'Neill sisters led the way offensively for the Yellow Jackets.  Maggie O'Neill posted 16 kills while Amy O'Neill tallied 13.

Black Hills State will return to action on September 17 when the team will travel to Madison, S.D. to take on DAC conference opponent Dakota State at 7 p.m. CT/6 p.m. MT.
