SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University volleyball team travels to Regis and Chadron State Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5. First serve on Friday is at 7 p.m. followed by a 6 p.m. serve on Saturday.
Regis owns a 9-6 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference record with a 14-10 overall record. Silvia Basso commands the offense with 436 assists and a 6.61 per set average. Alongside Basso, Katie Klein leads the team with 321 kills and an average of 3.61 per set. Klein holds a .257 hitting percentage.
In charge of the defense, Kristina Schell averages 3.91 digs per set with a total of 348 digs on the season. Yagoda Jedrzejczak works alongside Schell and has registered 68 blocks with a .91 per set average. The Rangers currently sit in the sixth place spot in the conference standings.
Chadron State enters with a 5-9 RMAC record and a 6-17 record on the season. Madison Webb takes control of the offense with 817 assists and a 10.21 average. Rudy Leasau leads the team with 285 kills with a 3.56 kills per set average and owns a .129 hitting percentage. Gaby Varela is right behind Leasau with 245 kills and a 3.06 per set average.
On defense, Emily Bruce has recorded 403 digs and a 5.04 digs per set average. Alongside Bruce, Kenzie Chrisman has registered 64 blocks and a 1.03 block per set average. The Eagles currently sit in the 10
th place spot in conference.
Black Hills State enters with a 4-10 conference record and a 6-16 overall.
Brynn Eckhardt, who ranks second in the nation for triple-doubles, commands the offense with 590 assists and a 6.63 per set average.
Ellise Lech leads the team with 174 kills and a 2.05 average per set.
The Yellow Jackets have been a strong force on defense as they rank second in the nation overall for total blocks and blocks per set at 252 and a 2.83 average. Leading the way,
Cheyenne Palu ranks third overall in the nation for total blocks with 133 and fifth for blocks per set with a 1.49 average.
Lacy Stevens helps Palu with 483 digs and a 5.43 digs per set average.
Following the weekend, Black Hills State has two games remaining starting at South Dakota Mines in Rapid City on November 8 before returning to the Young Center against University of Colorado Colorado Springs on November 11. First serve for both days starts at 7 p.m.
