SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University women's volleyball camps begin this week. The Young Athletes Skills Camp is July 11-12, while the Summer Slam Team Camp is July 13-14, and the Individual Skills and Training Camp will be July 15-17.
The Young Athletes Skills Camp is for the aspiring volleyball player with the desire to improve their skills. Athletes will receive instruction, competition, and an opportunity to have fun playing volleyball. There will be three sessions split up by age. The first session is from 8-9 a.m., and is for grades K-2, costing $30. Session II will be 10-11:30 a.m., for grades 3-6, costing $50. Grades 7-8 will be in Session III from 1:30-3:30 p.m., which will be $70.
The Summer Slam Team Camp, for high school teams, is a two-day format, with the first day consisting of pool play, and the second day will be a seeded bracket. Champions of each bracket will receive a t-shirt. Registration for the Team Camp has already closed.
The Individual Skills and Training Camp provides the environment for the competitive volleyball player from grades 9-12, with the desire to improve their skills. Athletes will receive instruction, competition, and the opportunity to view what BHSU has to offer. There are options for resident campers and commuter campers.
