JOPLIN, Mo. – Two members of the Black Hills State University volleyball team were named to the All-Tournament Team following the Southern Invite hosted by Missouri Southern State University last weekend. Laurel Lech and Madee Hoopman each earned the accolade.
Lech, a senior setter, tallied 68 total assists in four matches. She averaged 4.86 assists per set. Lech recorded three double-doubles, averaging double digit assists in all four matches, and double digit digs in three matches. She also had 26 total kills as BHSU went 2-2.
Outside hitter Hoopman tallied 42 total kills, good for 3.0 per set. The sophomore had 22 kills while hitting .436 in a four-set victory over Cameron, including having eight kills in the decisive fourth set.
The Yellow Jackets will next travel to Lubbock, Texas, to play four matches in the Chap Classic September 13-14. First up for BHSU will be Texas-Permian Basin on Friday, September 13, at 8 a.m.
