Yellow Jackets Add Pin Hitter Emily Freeland for 2022

Black Hills State women's volleyball, Head Coach Kristin Carmichael, and Assistant Coach Bree Davis are pleased to announce the addition of Emily Freeland as a member of the 2022 signing class.
 
Emily Freeland is a 6' 0" pin hitter who joins the Yellow Jacket family from Evanston, Wyoming where she played for Evanston High School.
 
Most recently Freeland amassed 422 kills, 318 digs, 45 blocks, and 41 aces throughout her senior year of competition.
 
While playing for Evanston High School Freeland earned All-Conference in 2020 and 2021 and was named All-State in 2020.
 
Freeland helped lead her team to the state tournament in 2019 and 2020 and was named team captain in both her junior and senior years.
 
Throughout high school Freeland was a member of the National Honor Society, was named Student of the Week, and earned Culinary Student of the Year.
 
Emily is currently ranked in the top 15% of her class with a 3.9 GPA. Freeland intends to major in Exercise Science at Black Hills State University with hopes to become an Occupational Therapist.
