Colorado Springs, Colo. – Black Hills State University volleyball was picked to finish 13
th in the RMAC 2022 preseason poll, released by the league on Tuesday afternoon.
Last season, the Yellow Jackets finished 8-18 overall (5-13 against conference opponents).
In the upcoming 2022 season, the Yellow Jackets are looking forward to showcasing their newly acquired talent after signing eight new members to the roster during the offseason. The new additions to the roster include six freshman and two transfer students. BHSU will also be bringing back eight veteran players to the 2022 squad.
The team will be led by former assistant coach
Bree Davis, who was brought on as interim head coach for the fall. Her interim assistant coach for the fall will be former BHSU volleyball player Jesse Hibl, who played for the team from 2015-2019 and served as volunteer assistant coach in 2020 and 2021.
MSU Denver took the top spot in the polls with 192 points and ten first-place votes. Colorado Mesa and Colorado Mines tied for second with 172 points (Mesa landed two first-place votes while Colorado Mines had one). Regis and CSU Pueblo took fourth and fifth respectively with one first-place vote each to round out the top five.
