COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released its 2023 Volleyball Preseason Coaches' poll on Monday afternoon, with the Yellow Jackets picked to finish 14
th in the conference with 39 points.
In 2022, the Yellow Jacket ladies finished 5-21 overall and 4-14 within the conference. Gearing up for the Fall, head coach
Bree Davis aims to right the ship and have a much-improved season in 2023.
"The one thing that we found that we struggled with this last year was not having a firm culture-base to stand on… building this culture is going to take time and it's going to take a lot of practice and discipline for us, but the time we put in this last spring is just going to bleed into the season and we've already seen that in practice," said Davis.
Heading into the 2023 season, the Yellow Jackets are returning nine athletes to the court and are adding nine new athletes to the roster, including the experience of three transfers.
BHSU volleyball kicks off the 2023 season with the Yellowjacket Invitational, hosted by MSU Billings, on Friday, Sept. 1 and Saturday, Sept. 2 before returning home for the 2023 Yellow Jacket Classic, which begins on Thursday, Sept. 7 and runs through Saturday, Sept. 9.
Regular season play for BHSU will begin on Friday, Sept. 15 as the ladies hit the road to square off against UCCS.
