HOW IT HAPPENED
	- Black Hills State saw their offensive attack get out to a quick start with six shot attempts within the first 20 minutes of action, including a pair of shot attempts that were on target by Bailey Smith. In the 17th minute Smith made her first shot on goal attempt from the right side of the box, forcing Jordan Metz to make a diving deflection in front of the bottom left corner of the net, and then in the 18th minute Smith directed a slow, bouncing shot towards the bottom left corner as it was also picked up by Metz.
- In the 22nd minute a shot off target by UMC's Sarah Burgum was tipped out of bounds by Zoe Wiggall in goal, resulting in the Golden Eagle's lone corner kick attempt of the game and the only attempt by either team in the first half. The ensuing corner kick attempt was immediately headed out by the Yellow Jackets to avoid the scoring threat.
- Katy Vinton notched the first shot on target of the second half for BHSU in the 50th minute as she fired a shot from inside the box towards the bottom right corner of the net, only for Metz to make another diving save.
- The only shot attempt on target for Minnesota Crookston in the contest occurred in the 55th minute when Allanah Facio snagged the ball off one bounce as Madison Lein took a free kick attempt from roughly 35 yards out.
- One of Black Hills State's best scoring opportunities of the match came in the 63rd minute off a free kick attempt from just about a yard off the right side of the box. Taking the initial free kick attempt was Bria Sargent who had the attempt deflected by UMC defenders in the box, but Jayda Hammer quickly collected it for a shot of her own which was deflected just five yards in front of the net. Anacel Valenzuela-Acosta headed the deflected ball over to Kylie Hayes who placed a shot towards the center of the goal from ten yards out before it was finally snagged by Metz.
- In the 77th minute a shot attempt by Smith that was deflected out left by Metz resulted in the first of multiple of corner kick attempts in the closing minutes for the Yellow Jackets. The ensuing attempt was grabbed out of the air and cleared by Metz.
- The final attack offensively for BHSU saw a corner kick attempt in the 85th minute, which resulted in a shot off target by Paige Hill as her header went over the top crossbar. Then in the 87th minute Valenzuela-Acosta attempted to sneak a shot attempt just inside the right post from close range, however Metz was able to jump on top of the ball for the save.
- Black Hills State held the advantage in shots (23-3), shots on goal (9-1), and corner kicks (3-1) while Minnesota Crookston held the edge in saves (9-1).
