COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Black Hills State University women's soccer team was unable to withstand the attack of one of the nation's top scoring teams on Friday afternoon, falling to No. 15 UCCS by a score of 4-1. The four goals surrendered by the Yellow Jackets were the most this season and was just the third time in 2025 they have given up multiple goals to an opponent.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After six shot attempts in the first 26 minutes of action, UCCS continued their aggressive offensive attack and found the back of the net for the first time in the contest in the 27th minute as Levi Taylynn placed the ball into the top left corner of the net on a penalty kick.
- Then just minutes later in the 30th minute on a corner kick set, the Mountain Lions extended their lead to 2-0 as Elise Broberg found Emily Aguilar at the top of the box and she then fired the ball into the top left corner of the net with her left foot.
- Being out-shot 12-1 in the opening half, the lone shot attempt in the first 45 minutes of action for the Yellow Jackets came in the 38th minute as Kylie Hayes worked her way past a defender to the top of the box and fired a low, bouncing shot towards the center of the net where it was picked up by Nylah Mirshafiei.
- UCCS added to their lead in the 72nd minute, making it a 3-0 contest as Casey Tadlock's free kick from the top left corner of box was deflected into the net.
- The Mountain Lions' fourth and final goal of the match-up came as Brooke Pavlich found Abby Stassi, who worked her way into the right side of the box and placed the ball into the lower left corner of the net.
- Off the ensuing kickoff in the 86th minute the Green & Gold were able to avoid being shutout as Kayla Truong took in a pass from Jayda Hammer, fought off a pair of Mountain Lion defenders and placed a high arcing shot into the top center portion of the net from 30-yards out.
- UCCS held the advantage in shots (26-4), shots-on-goal (11-2), and corner kicks (8-0), while Black Hills State held the edge in saves (7-1).
