Black Hills State Announces 2025 Women’s Soccer Schedule

SPEARFISH, S.D. – Following back-to-back seasons in which they have matched their highest win total in program history, the Black Hills State University women's soccer program and head coach John Hutchison have announced their 2025 schedule on Tuesday afternoon. The slate will feature three scrimmages, six non-conference matches, and 12 RMAC contests, which provides 11 home match-ups at the Black Hills Power Sports Complex.

Shortly after student-athletes arrive back on campus in the fall, Black Hills State will host three scrimmages in the month of August to prep for the regular season. Gillette College will be the first to visit Spearfish on August 19th, followed by Northeastern Junior College on August 24th, and then the College of Saint Mary on August 30th.

The regular season will begin on the road with a trip to Minnesota and a pair of non-conference matches against NSIC opponents. The first of the two match-ups will be a September 5th contest at MSU Moorhead, while the Yellow Jackets then make a return trip to Minnesota Crookston on September 7th, after the Golden Eagles made the trip to Spearfish last season.

The Yellow Jackets remain on the road the following weekend, making the trip to Kearney, Nebraska, for the second year in a row as they face off against the Lopers of Nebraska-Kearney on September 18th. The Green & Gold will then conclude the weekend with a neutral site match in Kearney against Northwestern Oklahoma State in a first-time match-up between the Yellow Jackets and Rangers on the pitch on September 14th.

Black Hills State will play their first home contest of the season at the Black Hills Power Sports Complex when they welcome to Spearfish another first-time opponent, the Trojans of Dakota State on September 18th. They then wrap up the non-conference slate two days later on September 20th when they host a familiar foe on the schedule in Montana State Billings.

The final weekend of the month of September marks the opening of RMAC action as the Yellow Jackets visit New Mexico Highlands on September 26th, followed by a trip to Adams State on September 28th. During the trip the Green & Gold look to replicate the success they had against the Cowgirls and Grizzlies just a year ago, as the pair of wins marked their first-ever weekend sweep and their highest scoring weekend in conference play in program history.

BHSU returns to the home pitch for the first time in conference play to begin the month of October, hosting the reigning RMAC regular season and tournament champions of Colorado School of Mines on October 3rd and then welcoming CSU Pueblo to town for an October 5th match-up. The Orediggers, who advanced to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight last year, played their first-ever match as the No. 1 ranked team in the nation last season when they visited Black Hills State but saw their 8-game win streak come to an end as the 1-1 draw was their only tie or loss of the regular season.

Another 2-game road trip to UCCS on October 10th and 2024 national tournament qualifier Colorado Mesa on October 12th is the precursor to a late season 4-game homestand for the Yellow Jackets. The final homestand of the season for BHSU kicks-off with an October 17th contest against Colorado Christian, followed by another match-up against a 2024 national tournament qualifier as MSU Denver visits on October 19th. The final weekend of action at the Black Hills Power Sports Complex begins as Fort Lewis makes the trek to Spearfish for an October 24th game. The final home match-up of the year is an October 26th match against Western Colorado as the Yellow Jackets seek their second consecutive victory against the Mountaineers.

The regular season for the Black Hills State soccer team comes to a close with road trips to Westminster on October 31st to end the month, and then a visit to Regis on November 5th. The top-8 teams in the standings at the end of the regular season will qualify for the RMAC Tournament, which will see the first round be played on November 7th, the quarterfinals on November 9th, the semifinals on November 12th, and the championship on November 15th.
