HUDL HIGHLIGHTS

PREP: In three prep seasons at Highland High School and Garces Memorial High School, Hernandez carried the ball 288 times for 1,494 yards, averaging 5.2 yards per carry, and 12 touchdowns. In 2023 at GMHS he was named All-South Yosemite River League as one of just five skill players, posting career-highs in carries (133), rushing yards (726), and touchdowns (5) in the year. Then in just five games at HHS due to an injury in 2024, he recorded 98 carries for 501 yards and three touchdowns, while also hauling in 12 receptions for 118 yards and one touchdown, helping him earn First Team Kill Player and All-League honors at the running back position. The 2024 Bulldog team he was a part of went 11-5 and won a CIF Division 4-AA regional championship before falling by two in the state title game to St. Vincent de Paul. Austyn is the son of Anthony Hernandez and Krystal Sanchez. He also has three siblings, Anthony, Axel, and Kali Hernandez.
