Bill played football and basketball for the Yellow Jackets in the mid-1960s. He was a two-time All-SDIC performer in basketball and was an all-district pick both years. He was also an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American. In football, he was an Honorable Mention SDIC performer for two seasons and a first team all-conference in 1966.
