Black Hills State University Athletics

Rick Sperry, '90, participated in track and field in 1977, 1979, and 1980.  He was a two-time South Dakota Intercollegiate Conference Javelin Champion in 1979 and 1980 and was third in the javelin at the NAIA National Track and Field Championships in 1979 earning him All-American status.  He held the javelin record at BHSU for many years.
