Black Hills State University Athletics

Mike Lewis, '80, created a Yellow Jacket mascot costume and was the mascot from 1978 to 1980.  His wife, Jo, made the costume and Mike entertained the crowds.  His hope was that the mascot would become a tradition at Black Hills State.  Today, Sting preforms at supporting events and makes appearances for the university at recruiting events.
