coached at BHSC from 1946 to 1948. He was hired as athletic director and coach and was given responsibility to revitalize an athletic program that had been dormant during the war years. That year, he coached the Yellow Jackets to conference championships in football and basketball. The following spring the Jacket thinclads captured second place in the SDIC. In 1947, his basketball team won yet another championship. In 1961, Coach Olson was named West Virginia Basketball Coach of the Year. In 1983, he was inducted into the West Liberty State College Hall of Fame.
