He was selected All-Conference four years, All-District his sophomore, junior and senior years, and earned Honorable Mention All-American in 1978. His batting averages were .376 his freshman year, .314 his sophomore year, .422 his junior year and .339 his senior year. He was also a four-year letter winner for the Jackets.
