Black Hills State University Athletics

Cal R. Corey won 20 Black Hills Conference track and cross country titles at Sturgis Brown High School.  His girls team won the state meet in 1990 and the boys finished runner-up in 1995.  In 1981, Cal was selected girls track coach of the year.  He was inducted into the South Dakota Coaches Hall of Fame in 2008 and the Sturgis High School Hall of Fame in 2012.  He was also inducted into the South Dakota Track and Cross Country Coaches Hall of Fame in 2018.
