Roy ran track and cross country for the Jackets from 1971-1975. He set the South Dakota record for the 880 run with a time of 1:52 at the NAIA National Meet in 1974, and also set the BHSU two-mile relay record at 8:03 with Duane Millslagle, Bob Green and Terry Padgett in 1972. Borreson also received the outstanding 880 run award at CU in 1975.
